This is a review of the entire Yu Yu Hakusho series in general.
Yu Yu Hakusho is not only one of the most action-packed, bloody and intrigueing anime out there but its also the second *funniest* anime i'v ever seen - dwarfed ONLY by the great Desert Punk. Yusuke's script is packed to the brim with wit and sarcastic jokes, in addition to some wonderful belly-laughs from Koenma, Ogre, Genkai and Koto (the Dark Tournament announcer).
There were times where intrigue buildup and just the sheer fun of it all made watching YYH so addictive that 8 entire episodes on a single disc seemed like only 20 minutes went by. The stories behind the Black Black Club, Sensui's personalities, Hiei/Kurama's previous lives in Demon World, and the 3 Demon rulers are awesome and easy to get sucked into. On top of that, the creepy-ass Elder Togoro has become one of my favorite villians ever for his bizarre ability, evil laugh, and the "WTF!?" moments he brings about later in the series.
The only thing wrong with YYH is that the overall story is unorigional. Teenagers with superpowers fight demons blah blah blah immortality isn't all its cracked up to be blah blah blah villian turns against humans because of how bad they can be blah blah blah blah.
Despite the cliche storyline, I simply MUST award all 5 stars... its just too damn funny, gory and intriguing for me to give any rating lower. F.Y.I. its pretty difficult for me to heavily praise a show without a story that impresses me, so this is saying ALOT.Get more detail about Yu Yu Hakusho: Season Two Set.
